PRACTICAL LEGAL WRITING COURSE

If you need to learn how to draft documents in English, if you need to develop and improve your legal writing skills in practice, this course has been tailored just for you:

- 30 hour course – divided into 15 sessions

- small groups – around eight lawyers per group

- held at our training Centre or on client premises

- aimed at advanced (C1) learners of English

- ideal for lawyers practising English and drafting documents at work.

The course covers the following aspects:

  • the basic elements of legal writing ( vocabulary, grammar, register, planning and text organization)
  • Writing clinic:

- drafting various client care-letters (i.e. emails, advisory letters, complaints, a power of attorney, demand letters, etc.)

- drafting various contractual clauses (i.e. liquidated damages clauses, confidentiality clauses, restrictive covenants)

- drafting various types memoranda, notices, briefs, etc.
